Santa Fe, New Mexico

After a week at home in Virginia, we are back on the road again.  We flew back to Salt Lake City to get our car and drove for 12hours through the desert to arrive in Santa FE, NM.  I never realized it but Santa Fe is the oldest capital in the US.  It was founded in 1610 – 10 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock.  It is also a lot smaller than I expected – with a population under 70,000 and no tall buildings, the highest being 4-5 stories.

We are staying in a small “casita”.  Yes, I know that casita means little house but this one is really small as you can see.

But it is all new inside and has a great outside area with a pergola and fireplace.

Antelope Island

As promised, we returned to Antelope Island to shoot sunset.  We climbed all the way to the top of Buffalo Point and saw a mediocre sunset.

But we also saw some of the buffalo the island is famous for.  Here they are at happy hour at the old watering hole.

Paint Mixer

We almost did this in Boston because we passed the place every time we went to our favorite restaurant, so we finally got around to doing it in Park City.  The Paint Mixer is a place you go to paint and drink wine.  It turned out to be entertaining and we now have Christmas presents for our kids for next year.  Here is what we painted and the work in progress.
